Privacy notice

We collect as little as possible, use it only to answer you, and run no analytics of any kind.

This notice explains how Frost Investment Research Co., Ltd. (“we”, “the editorial desk”) handles personal data. It is written to comply with Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA, 個人資料保護法), which governs the collection, processing and use of personal data by private entities — including this editorial project, which is operated from Taipei.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Frost Investment Research Co., Ltd. , Representative: Chen Chun-Jung , registered under Business No. (UBN): 78437009 . You can reach us for any privacy matter:

What we collect and the purposes

Inquiries you send us. When you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, optional phone number, and message text you typed. The purpose is one thing: reading and answering your inquiry — a question about an article, a suggested topic, a correction, or a permission request.

We do not collect data for marketing, profiling, or list-building, and we do not subscribe anyone to anything. There is no newsletter.

Your cookie choice. When you accept or reject the cookie notice, that choice is written to your own browser’s local storage under the key frc-cookie-consent. It never leaves your device, is never sent to our servers, and is therefore not data we process — it is data your browser keeps for you. The cookie notice lists this item in full.

Technical server logs. The hosting that serves this website may, as is standard, keep short-lived technical request logs (including IP addresses) solely to operate and secure the service and to defend against abuse. We do not read these logs for statistics, and we do not run any web analytics at all.

The PDPA permits the collection of personal data that has a specific purpose and a reasonable relationship to the entity’s business, and restricts use beyond that purpose. Our purpose is fixed and narrow: answering correspondence you initiated. You are told at the point of collection what is recorded, and use outside the purpose described here does not happen.

How the form works

Submissions are sent over HTTPS to a handler on this site’s own domain (/api/inquiry), to the editorial inbox, and to nowhere else. No advertising network, analytics vendor, or tracking company receives any part of it.

Retention

Inquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the matter and follow-up, and are then deleted; as a working ceiling we hold correspondence files for no longer than 24 months after last contact before disposal. Nothing about you is retained in any subscriber, lead, or prospect database, because none exists. (This retention window is our proposed internal standard, pending business confirmation.)

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may request, for data held about you: to make an inquiry and inspect the record, to have it supplemented or corrected, and to have the processing and use — and, once the purpose is fulfilled, the data itself — discontinued or deleted. Write to info@frostcompiler.digital with enough detail to identify you and your message; we will act promptly and in any case respond within thirty days. (The thirty-day internal processing target is a proposed operational standard, pending business confirmation.)

We never collect sensitive personal data (health, belief, financial account credentials, and the like), so none can exist in our records. This site is not directed at children, and we knowingly collect nothing from them.

Disclosure and transfers

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes. The only recipients are the service providers that technically operate our website and our email inbox, acting strictly on our instructions. Some of that infrastructure may sit outside Taiwan; where any personal data touches it, the data remains under the purpose limits of this notice. (Specific hosting locations depend on the production infrastructure and will be confirmed in the operations notes at launch.)

What runs on this website

To be precise about behaviour: no analytics, no advertising pixels, no tag managers, no session recorders, and no third-party scripts or fonts run on this site. The statistical question “how many people read these essays?” is one we have chosen not to ask.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, the new version will be published at this address with its revision described above in plain language. It was first published in October 2026.
